Dr. Enakshi Sengupta is the CEO and founder of Borders Without Barbed Wires (www.bwbw.in), a not for profit dedicated to cross border education in emergency. Dr. Sengupta has nearly three decades of experience working both in the corporate world and in the academic environment. 

She is a PhD holder from the University of Nottingham and has completed her MBA from the same university. Enakshi also has a master’s degree in English literature from Calcutta University and two undergraduate degrees in English literature and Education. She has held leadership positions in several universities in 5 different countries. 

Enakshi has been lauded with several international awards which include: 2025: Reading the Author – Awards for Best Debut Novel. 2024: University of Nottingham Alumni Award for Excellence in Arts, Culture and Creativity. 2022: Outstanding Author Contribution from Emerald Publishing, 2021: The Outstanding Faculty Award by CIES (Comparative & International Education Society) Study Abroad & International Students Special Interest Group (SIG) and many others.

Her debut novel, ‘The Silk Route Spy’, published by Harper Collins India, is a bestseller. It has acquired the rights for Marathi translation with a leading Marathi publishing house. Audible has converted the book into an audiobook and is now available on 5 different audiobook platforms. Her 2 nd manuscript has been acquired by Harper Collins India and is a work in progress, awaiting its launch in Oct / Nov 2025.
