Novel has over 45 years’ experience across industries varying from banking and finance to HR and CSR and agriculture. She joined India’s largest public sector Bank, the State Bank of India, as a Probationary Officer and was a senior AGM when she resigned after 28 years. 

Thereafter, she pursued her passion for environment, working closely in the waste management sector, agriculture and CSR divisions across industries. She has been on the board as Independent Director in companies related to agriculture commodity sector, renewable energy sectors including production and promotion of bio-fuels, and auto sector for about 10 years. 

Novel is an MBA (MDU) and MA in English (DU).

She has co-authored Echoes of Faith (Rupa 2024) and has written articles for newspapers and magazines.

She is passionate about travel and photography and has also exhibited some of her works. Currently along with working with NGOs’, she is a practicing organic farmer. She is widely travelled both in India and abroad.
